Bowman International School is excited about our purchase of the properties at 689 and 693 Arastradero Road. The addition of the “Arastradero Site” so close to our current campus will provide us the space necessary to further enrich the educational offerings Bowman provides its students. Bowman’s Head of School and Board of Trustees believe strongly in the benefits of a small school population and have identified, as a core principle, maintaining a student body of 300 or fewer students. Even with the additional space, Bowman will not be asking for an increase in our not- to- exceed maximum enrollment of 300 students.
Our goal is to build a smaller-scale school that has a residential feel and makes the best use of both indoor and outdoor space. The additional property will allow us to expand our facilities footprint, providing additional space for our current student population, as well as the opportunity to include 3 and 4-year-olds into our already existing preschool program, an important part of the Montessori model. We also hope to continue expanding Bowman’s STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics) initiatives by providing space for a dedicated Idea Lab.
As we have details and updates to share, we will include them on this site. If you have questions at any time, please contact Mary Beth Ricks, Head of School at Bowman, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Bowman has hosted three Neighbor Open Houses to discuss the Arastradero Site project. Click on the date to view the PowerPoint presentation from that evening:
