Traditions

With our 20 year history, Bowman has developed several traditions that help keep our school community connected.  Whether its something we’ve done since the inception of the school or something we’ve just discovered, we pass on these traditions to our new families and enjoy remembering them with those who have graduated.

School Mascot
The Bowman Bee became our official mascot when we marked our 15th anniversary in 2010.

Yearbook
The Navigator Yearbook is an annual tradition that started in 2000 and the name was chosen to show that Bowman is a guide along their journey. The Middle School students help with the photography and text that highlight school activities for the year and all Bowman students.

Logo
The new Bowman logo launched in 2015.

The new look to Bowman guides us into our next decades as we ignite the flame of learning, start with our youngest with minds open to knowledge moving to our eldest and fully saturated students, and finally identifies Bowman as a Montessori school with the reference to the trinomial cube, one of our most advanced math materials.

School Song
The current Bowman School Song was written in 2008. The students enjoy having their own section to the song highlighting their activities at the school and it is sung at many assemblies and events throughout the year.

Chorus:
Bowman is a wonderful school
We are learning something new each day
Bead frame, checkerboard, stamp game too
We learn the Montessori way

Junior Level:
Juniors explore the whole world through
We respect our friends and teachers too
Golden beads, story time, long and short chain
We love our buddies and do as they say

Lower Elementary Level:
Journals, recorders, cooking so well
We love our sharing in Lower El
Spelling cards, cultural, stories to tell
It all begins with the morning bell

Chorus:
Bowman is a wonderful school
We are learning something new each day
Bead frame, checkerboard, stamp game too
We learn the Montessori way

Upper Elementary Level:
Camping and field trips in Upper El
We are creative, as you can tell
Music, math, science fair, garden in the sun
And Founders’ Day is number one

Middle School Level:
Buddies and traveling, Shakespeare plays
We learn independence in Middle School days
Mock U.N., opera, languages, arts
We will all keep Bowman in our hearts

Chorus:
Bowman is a wonderful school
We are learning something new each day
Bead frame, checkerboard, stamp game too
We learn the Montessori way
